Guitarist Donovan Mixon came to Chicago in 2010 after an extended sojourn living as an expatriate in the countries of Italy and Turkey. As a freelance performing artist and college professor he performed at jazz festivals – Umbria Jazz, Istanbul Jazz Festival, Ankara Jazz, Monticello Jazz, Jazz In It, and taught at many educational institutions – Central European University -Budapest, Shanghai American School -China, D.A.M.S Bologna, Istanbul Bilgi University. Donovan performed at the 2013 Chicago Jazz Festival with his current group, Montage (montageworldjazz.com) and continues to perform with groups or as a soloist at many venues both public and private.
