About Emmanuel FRIN
I am a clarinetist, saxophonist and gaida (Bulgarian bagpipe) player specialized in Balkan Bulgarian folk music. I have studied Bulgarian music in the Plovdiv Academy for fine Arts & Music & Dances and with famous Bulgarian folk musicians (Nikola Iliev, Petko Stefanov, Dinko Atanassov, Stefan Yanev, Valentin Raikov…) I am currently involved in my own Bulgarian music projects (Kalinka Vulcheva & Topolovo Orchestra, Bulgar Unplugged, solo gaida performances). I am looking for projects to play as a « Balkan/Bulgarian » sideman as I already did several times (Obree Alie, Just B with Selma). I have been teaching Bulgarian music for several years in music schools as well as in master classes. I make fine gaida reeds and does the maintenance of this instrument (bag change, seasoning, tuning).
