Eliah ZABALY was born in Paris on 23 rd October 1961. He started learning piano at the age of 7 and began his musical career at the age of 11 when he played the Piano Concerto in D Major by HAYDN, conducted by Marc BLEUSE, Director of the Music Department in France. At the age of 13, he commenced his musical studies at the National Conservatory of Music in Paris, where he was a pupil of Pierre SANCAN and Aldo CICCOLINI. In 1979, he was awarded the 1st Prize of Chamber Music in the class of Maurice CRUT. The same year he was also awarded the 1st Prize for Solo Piano in the class of Aldo CICCOLINI. In 1980, he was accepted into the final rounds of the competitions for Chamber Music and Solo Piano and was placed first in the solo section of the Third Cycle for Piano at the Paris Conservatory of Music. Upon graduating from the Paris Conservatory of Music in 1979, Eliah Zabaly started an international career in France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Hungary, Greece, Russia and now in Israel. More recently, since his Aliyah to Israel in 1989, Eliah ZABALY has performed throughout the country as a concert pianist and conductor of Broadway Musicals like Kizmet, Music Man, Cats and Evita. He teaches the piano at the Anglican International School in Jerusalem. He recorded more than 40 CDs which are regularly broadcast on radio Kol Hamusica. He also conducted a choir of professional cantors for years and appeared on Shabbats and Holidays throughout the country. Over the last few years of his career, Eliah ZABALY has become deeply involved in vocal work. As a professional Baritone, he attended during many years the concert seasons of the Israeli Opera Chorus under the baton of Zubin Mehta. He is also part of the Cantorial Choir at the Great Synagogue in Jerusalem under the direction of maestro Elli Jaffe. Since 2015, as Music Director, he organizes concerts each month at the Mediterranean Towers in Jerusalem with musicians and ensembles of international reputation.
